EnKoat selected among the latest cohort of the Joules Accelerator

[Tempe] — April 7, 2020 — Earlier this week, EnKoat was selected as one of eight cleantech startups to participate in the Joules Accelerator, which provides startups a great platform to deploy their technology in the North Carolina Cleantech Corridor. The accelerator selected the most promising top eight startups from all over the world with focus on ‘net zero’ technologies for their sixth cohort. As part of the accelerator, EnKoat will get access to work directly with industry giants like Duke Energy, Trane and Lowes and several others, all of which are partnered with the Joules accelerator.

The sixth cohort of Joules Accelerator includes startups at multiple TRLs working on products ranging from smart-grid technologies to alternative forms of energy. EnKoat CEO Dr Matthew Aguayo expressed his enthusiasm at the selection and said, ‘The team is thrilled to be a part of the Joules Accelerator. This is a welcome news for us with perfect timing and helps us get market ready when we are already making strides to derisk our technology with our participation in the Wells Fargo Innovation Incubator (IN2).’ Earlier this year, EnKoat also began their collaboration with the Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (Link to article), where the team is making consistent progress to validate the energy savings performance of their technology.

‘We have come a long way since our inception in terms of product development and we have been working to identify high impact market segments for our technology over the last year. That said, I believe that our vision to reduce energy consumption and at the same time tackle climate change closely aligns with the Joules Accelerator which helped us get into the program,’ EnKoat’s CTO Dr Aashay Arora added.

EnKoat will be mentored by leaders in the cleantech industry who are part of the accelerator and Research Triangle Cleantech Cluster (RTCC) during the 100 days duration of the program. These mentors will help EnKoat get more insights about the industry and help facilitate connections and opportunities for business development.
