This past Monday, Apr 29, the EnKoat team pitched their startup for the coveted $50k prize at the 2019 New Venture Challenge. Under the guidance of Scott Wald, the team spent 10 weeks refining its business model and made it to the final 5 teams who pitched on Monday for the $50k prize. ‘The New Venture Challenge was a very competitive event. We did our best to convince the judges of our business model, but we were holding our breath until the end’, EnKoat CEO and co-founder Matthew Aguayo says. ‘We wanted to make the most of this unique opportunity available to us. At the end of the day, we were glad we did the 10-week course and our takeaway from the New Venture Challenge was much more than the prize money’, CTO and co-founder Aashay Arora says. The team is well positioned to take advantage of the prize money they have won and plans to launch pilot projects in the valley to help validate their technology at a field scale.
